Are you an innovative tech company ready to grow your market overseas, perhaps to North America?
If so, you could be taking your first steps in just a few weeks. The Director of the Economic Development Department for the Canadian city of Summerside, Mike Thususka, is visiting the UK in Sepetmber to meet with companies who have an interest in establishing a North American office in the next 36 months.
On September 19th, Caerphilly ICE will host a breakfast briefing and networking event on the City of Summerside ‘Living Lab’ opportunity, which will include a presentation by Mr Tususka, questions and pre-arranged 1-2-1 meetings with interested companies.
The City of Summerside is the second largest city on Prince Edward Island in Atlantic Canada, perfectly placed for access to the Canadian and US markets. It is widely recognised as a leader and early adopter of innovation and investment in specific and growing sectors, with a unique municipally owned infrastructure, combined with a tech-friendly business environment that encourages innovation. Summerside also hosts a ‘Living Lab’ a real-life test and experimentation environment where users and producers co-create innovations.
Summerside’s value proposition is the ability to test, accelerate and produce results that have substantive benefit for other jurisdictions. They plan to become a City that not only develops innovation and technology, integration and next generation products, they intend to be an early adopter demonstration source that grows jobs and exportable solutions for other jurisdictions worldwide. The visit will be facilitated by Welsh International Business Development company Fraser International.
Summerside is a true validation centre where you can develop, test, refine and prove products and technologies and then export them to worldwide markets. For more information visit their website here
