On the 30th January, the Wales Technology Awards 2019 was launched. A special occasion that welcomed a number of our friends to Tramshed Tech for an evening of celebration as we look ahead to the ceremony taking place on the 20th June at Cardiff City Hall. Nominations for the prestigious awards are now open and will remain open until 5 April.
The evening kicked off with Peter Fox (Leader of Monmouthshire County Council) and Anthony Hunt (Leader of Torfaen County Borough Council) reinforcing the commitment of the Cardiff Capital City Region Deal to digital innovation and shedding insight into how this scheme will provide a launchpad for digital transformation across South Wales and beyond.
As Managing Director of the ESTnet, Avril Lewis MBE opened the Wales Technology Awards in terrific style with the previous opener to the 2018 ceremony.
This was shortly followed by a speech from Paul Shephard, Founder & CEO of We Build Bots about how winning the Sir Michael Moritz Tech Start Up Award in 2018 helped propel them to massive success within just a few months of launching their business. Winning the award gave them increased exposure such that they cultivated new business and realised the potential servicing public sector organisations. Now they go from strength to strength with plans set on further expansion both in Wales and internationally into markets such as U.S.A.
"Winning the Sir Michael Moritz Award played an important part in our story and had a huge effect on the direction of our business"
